I knew Karen only through the eyes and words of her sister Patty, who had only the kindest and most glowing things to say about her. You must have been a wonderful sister. May you rest in peace. May your family be comforted by faith and by happy memories.
I remember girl scout camping trips and ghost stories, barbies then boys. But what I remember most is Casey’s smile, beautiful dimples, sense of humor and loving heart. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. She is forever your angel now. May peace be with you.

May all your memories of Casey help you in this very difficult time and may you find strength in those memories. You all will be in my prayers..
My deepest condolences to all of Casey’s family from myself and my family. Casey and I became friends in 6th grade and remained close friends through junior high and high school (CHS). I loved visiting her home and family on Briscoe Turn or just hanging out together at my home. The real neat thing about Casey was, we always liked to correspond with each other in school and would write notes to each other (not in class of course) but about real important things like, what boy you liked or how classes were going. We thought we were really cool!!! Casey and I had drifted apart as schooling, family and work often cause, but we had sent Christmas cards and started back to corresponding on Facebook and email. She was a super person, a great friend who helped me through, especially, middle school and growing up and will be very much missed. Lynn Cox
Our families grew up together on the Chesapeake Bay at CBD. Our dad’s worked with each other and we kids went to school & played together. We will always remember Casey’s beautiful smile and warm loving heart. Whether it was playing along the shores at “The Hollow” during base picnics, sleigh riding down the big hill,at the base pool or at Calvert High, we are blessed for having Casey in our life. Please accept our love, prayers and deep condolences during this time. Love, The Manser’s (Jimmy, Les, Don & Cathy)
KC..I will miss you terribly, especially since we just re-established our contact. I will always remember your friendship, love and caring. God bless your loving family..you shared with me how much you loved your daughters and how lucky you felt to find your “soul” mate in Andy. xo
With deepest sympathy.Thoughts and prayers for the family.
Casey your smile gave light and love to so many of the people that you met. Your smile will shine down from heaven and make the rainbows have a special glow from this day forward. I was honored to know you growing up in Calvert County.
Mike, you and your daughters and extended family will be in our thoughts and prayers. With Deepest Sympathy.
I have only fond memories of Karen. “Casey”, as we called her in childhood days, was a wonderful person, who smiled and laughed easily. I met her when she moved to Chesapeake Beach as a child and I was very excited to have a new playmate my age. She often invited me to her house to play with Barbie dolls. Throughout high school, she was a person that you could count on as a friend. Casey was friendly to everyone and made anyone who was lucky to meet her feel comfortable. It is not surprising that she became a nurse. It is always shocking to hear of a friend’s death, most particularly true regarding Casey. I had just reconnected with her through Facebook. I am so very sad to have not been able to spend more time with her. My heart is breaking for her family, husband, and children. Casey shall truly be missed.
Andy and Girls. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mark & Zandy
Andy, Kelsey and Kyra: The Lord knows all your questions and needs at this time. He will be with you through every step. He will comfort you, He will lead you, He will be with you. I am praying the Lord will tenderly comfort you in this time of loss and sorrow.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I have known the family for a long time growning up and really know how close this family was. Just remember all the good memories that you all have made together. She will be missed by everyone.
Andy, My words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your loss! KC was a wonderful person and dear friend! You and the girls will always be in our thoughts and prayers!
Dearest Mike, Kelsey and Kyra, My deepest sympathies go out to each of you and to your entire family during this difficult time. I am so grateful to have gotten to know your family and to have taken care of K.C. She will truly be missed. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Much love to you all.
I never had the pleasure of being formally introduced to Karen but hear a lot about her from her daughter, my good friend Kelsey. I know that she was a loving and caring mother. I wish I could have met her, she had to have been such a wonderful person to have raised such great daughters as Kels and Kyra. You are all in my thoughts today as I was unable to make it to the funeral/visitation. Keep your head up Kels – Love you
My condolence to the family. A former classmate and dear friend. We will miss you Casey.
So sorry Andy girls.KC will always be in our hearts. Andy, John wants to work with you on a special blacksmithing design of your choice.Let him know when your ready to blacksmith . John 812-343-1969 Prayers and Blessings
Such a tragic loss of such a beautiful soul. My heartfelt sympathy to all of Casey’s family and close friends. I can’t think of a moment that Casey didn’t have a smile on her face or in her eyes. I’ll never forget Casey throughout our Jr. High and High school years. I’m saying lots of prayers to hold you all up through this most difficult time.
I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Casey’s passing. My other classmates’ descriptions of her are extremely accurate. The one thing I would add is that Casey had a way of making each of us feel like we were her special friend. I have very fond memories of our time together. My heart and thoughts are with Casey and all of her family. Conni Johnson Evans Class of 1973
Our thoughts and prayers are being sent with the deepest of sympathy. Casey-KC was a high school buddy of ours, and we often wondered where she was and what she was doing. May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Calvert HS-Class of 1973

Mike, as you know our jobs sometimes take us into a maze of routineness and out of the sense of normalcy. I found myself wanting to do anything and everything I could for you and Karen the night that I responded to the accident. My place and job was to investigate the events that lead up to the point of where things were when I arrived, however I found myself wanting to play dual roles and do everything I could to make sure you were both going to be ok. Obviously sometimes things are above our control. I found it amazing that as you sat in that situation you still found positive words etc. What an inspiration. It’s not often that people are able to do just that, but somehow you did. I hope you feel that I did everything I could to make things easier and I am truly sorry for your loss. I feel like I gained a friend in you through this, and I barely know you. I would love to hear from you sometime. Please call central dispatch and just have them page me to call you , maybe we could grab lunch sometime when everything starts to calm down for you. The number you would call would be 379-1689. Thanks- Jason
