Kathy Lyn Kain-Breeden

Kathy Lyn Kain-Breeden, 73, of Columbus, passed away at 1:13 am, January 30, 2023, at her residence.
Kathy was born April 9, 1949, in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of Otto H. Kain Jr. and Wanda I. (Sterling) Kain-Graham. She married Rex E. Breeden in 1995.
Kathy’s career included tenures at Cummins, Eli Lilly, and as a REALTOR®.
Kathy was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Columbus Regional Hospital Auxiliary, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Association Columbus Unit. She was also a member of Harrison Lake Country Club, the Columbia Club, and the Elks Club. Kathy and her husband Rex had wintered at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida, where they were members, and were also members of the Key Largo Anglers Club, and Card Sound Golf Club. Kathy enjoyed gardening, green bean canning parties with her grandchildren, spending time with her family, and girls’ night out with her dearest friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Carr; son Derek (Dana) Carr; grandchildren Amanda (Jeremy) Thorpe, Emily (Zacary) Miller, Tyler Disman, Cody (Kenzie) Carr, and Kirsten Carr; great-grandchildren Jackie Thorpe and Sawyer Miller; brother Jon (Libby) Kain; and sister Beckie (Terry) Weddle.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband.
The funeral will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, February 3rd, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Reverend Mark Teike and Reverend Tim Carter officiating. Calling will be from 10:00 am until the service. Kathy will be laid to rest next to her husband at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.

I remember Kathy from CHS. We had some classes together. She was a good, kind person. Condolences to her family and friends.
