Kayla Ann Louise Branum
July 6, 1999 ~ June 2, 2023
Kayla Ann Louise Branum, 23, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away June 2, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kayla was born July 6, 1999, to the late Robert C. Branum and Julie Fields Branum. She was a graduate of Hauser High School and was beginning to start college towards a degree in Psychology.
Kayla’s life and personality were touching to all that knew her, and she would put anyone before herself, especially, her two boys Urijah Joshawa Lilley and Emett Lee Wayne Lilley. She loved being a mom to her boys, who brought her to a saving grace. Kayla loved music, and was a wonderful singer; she enjoyed swimming, going fishing with Dylan, and going to car shows. She was a lover of animals, especially her cat “Patch” who she found in a dumpster as a child. Kayla’s life was surrounded with love, a love for her family, and her friends, but also for herself; she found her saving grace through her kids, but she also found that through the love and support of others who helped her in her 90-day journey in sobriety through Celebrate Recovery.
Kayla is survived by her mother, Julie Branum; her fiancé, Dylan Lilley; her children; Urijah Joshawa Lilley and Emett Lee Wayne Lilley; her sisters, Erica Branum and Shanna Branum; her brother, Alex Konradi; Aunts, Tamara (Doug) Boston and Emily Knappe; her grandmother, Rita Davis; her nieces; Samantha Branum and Brooklynn Moore; her nephews; Brycen Branum, Dominick Branum, Zachuary Moore, and Matthew Moore, as well as her mother-in-law Tessa Paul.
Kayla was preceded in death by her Father Robert Branum; her brother, Ryan Branum; her grandparents, Barrett Eugene Fields and Cecil and Juanita Branum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Church of Columbus to support Celebrate Recovery.
Callings hours will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, with the funeral to be held at 12:00 with Pastor Tony Garris officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Thank you for always being a best friend to my son Nate. We will forever miss you. Thank you for being a good friend to my daughter Grace. I will always remember meeting you as a little girl walking up to my porch asking to play with the kids on a hot summer day. So many memories made 🙂 and continued as you and Nate grew older and stayed best friends, found your soul mates and watched each other become parents.
I will never forget the friend ship you gave and the big beautiful smile along with that laugh. 💕

Sweet caring girl who always had a smile for me whenever I saw her. Friend to my son, supportive…and sweet voice. I remember when her and my some performed at church with other kids from youth group. It will always be a memory I will not forget. Sending love, strength and prayers to all of her family and friends. I know she will be missed. Sending extra love and strength to Dylan and their children. Stay strong.
