Kenneth C. Rech October 13, 1929 - September 10, 2009 Kenneth Charles Rech, 79, of Co-lumbus, Ind., died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Kenneth retired from Cummins Engine Company. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose and Eagles lodges and Forty and Eight Club. Mr. Rech was born Oct. 13, 1929 in Hollis, N.Y., the son of Joseph and Helen Altobelli Rech. He married Diana Bryant in 1958. Survivors include a stepson, William R. (Mary) Holman of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Anne Holman of Hertford, N.C.; grandchildren, Don Holman Jr., Bill Holman, Ken Holman, Tammy Holman, Susie Mathis; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan (Art) Cleaver of Louisville, Ky.; and a special friend, Anneliese Thomas of Columbus, Ind. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Diana on Jan. 15, 2001; a stepson, Don A. Holman; sisters, Dorothy Malone, Helen Houston, Charlotte DeWolf; and a brother, Joseph Rech. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. VISITATION: Will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday. BURIAL: Will be at Riverview Cemetery with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post 89 and VFW Post 1925. Donations Information In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Retirement Community or Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
