Kimberly Dawn McCully

Kimberly Dawn McCully, age 52, died peacefully on February 19th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Kim was born July 11, 1969, the daughter of Mike McCully and Paula (Robards) Ruddell. Kim was an eclectic individual, an adventurer, and a free spirit. Kim loved collecting rare and interesting things. She never passed an estate sale or flea market without stopping to find something she thought someone she knew would love or need. Kim included her mother in her hobby and together they enjoyed countless hours curating antiques. Kim had an infinity for fishing. It was her true passion. A few of her favorite expeditions included tarpon fishing in Tampa Bay, tuna fishing off the coast of Costa Rica, and catching lake trout on Lake Superior. Kim brought a fishing pole wherever she went and if she was late, she was probably fishing. Kim had a special connection to Otter Creek Golf Course. She cherished the time she spent golfing with her dad there, though she would admit that she was never able to beat him. She enjoyed the people and the beautiful landscape. Many evenings you could find her there just hiking with her dog. Kim also found spiritual fellowship at the 25th Street Church of Christ. Here she became closer to God through the friendships of the congregation. That strength carried her through the many painful years of cancer treatment. Kim graduated from Columbus North High School, class of 1987. Knowing that she would miss her 35th class reunion this summer, she asks that her classmates raise a glass in her honor to ‘the good old times.’ Kim is preceded in death by her grandparents Bill and Mona McCully, T.G. Robards and Maggie (Berry) Perrin and Kenneth Perrin. She is survived by her parents Mike and Judy McCully, Paula and Gary Ruddell, her sister Kathy (Dana) Noteboom, and nephew Carver Noteboom. There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, February 23rd at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. The memorial service will be from 5-6 p.m. with visitation beginning at 4:00. The family asks that face mask be worn inside the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Kim requests a donation to the animal shelter of your choice in her name.
