Kristina L. Whipker August 06, 1947 - January 31, 2011 Kristina L. Whipker, 63, of Road 400W, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Whipker had worked in Labor and Delivery at Columbus Regional Hospital and was previously employed by Dr. C.D. Ryan. She also formerly owned Something Special to Take Home gift shops in Columbus and Nashville, IN. She painted Indians which were chosen by the Seminole Indiana Trading Post in Florida. She also enjoyed baking wedding cakes. Mrs. Whipker was a member of St. Johns Whitecreek Lutheran Church and Indiana Farm Bureau and was an active supporter of Bartholomew County 4-H. Kristina loved raising dogs, watching football and spending time with her grandkids. She and her husband were among three families that helped organize the Columbus East Booster Club. Born in Bedford Aug. 6, 1947, Mrs. Whipker was the daughter of Leslie F. Mellott and Ina Lou Parker Williams. She married Elmer J. Whipker Jr. Sept. 26, 1964. He survives. Also surviving are sons, Troy J. (Shawna) Whipker of Columbus and Mark Eppley of Columbus; daughters, Katrina (Brian) Brumley of Columbus and Tricia L. (Kenny) Ritz of North Vernon; grandchildren, Steven Ritz, Sierra and Summer Ritz, Kyler and Halie Brumley, Alexa and Corbin Whipker and Mackenzie Eppley. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday, February 7, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Joshua Cook officiating. CALLING: 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. BURIAL: Harmony Cemetery in Bartholomew County.
