Kyle Hendershot, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Bloomington, Indiana, at the age of 53. Born on April 29, 1971, in Columbus, Indiana, to Harvey Hendershot and Marlene Branham Hendershot, Kyle grew up with a passion for life that was evident to all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Columbus East High School in 1989, Kyle carried the spirit of his hometown throughout his life. He was known for his love of sprint car racing and bowling, hobbies that brought him immense joy and a sense of community. Above all, Kyle was a family man, deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Kyle is survived by his loving children, Kylie (Jacob) Delph and Kayla Hendershot and their mother, Erin Hendershot. He was a doting grandfather to Raylan, Easton, Dakota, Wrenly Delph, Adalyn, and Jacklyn Todd, who will miss his playful spirit and unwavering support. His siblings, Shonda (Joe) Miller, Brenda (Keith) Kappel, Steve (Natasha Haymaker) Ruse, and a niece and nephew, Jordyn and Logan Miller, will remember Kyle for his loyalty, laughter, and the love he had for his family.
Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Hendershot.
Kyle's patriotism was a cornerstone of his character, often reflected in his actions and the respect he held for his country. His presence at family gatherings will be deeply missed, but the memories of his enthusiasm for life and the love he had for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
