Lansing M. Anthony October 04, 1920 - April 23, 2010 Lansing M. Anthony, 89, of Pine Ridge Drive, died at 6:15 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Anthony was born Oct. 4, 1920 in Genoa, Texas, the son of Stanley Daniel and Lois Mary (McNaughton) Anthony. On June 28, 1952, he married Norma Jean (Hall) Anthony and she survives. Mr. Anthony was a World War II veteran, serving as a pilot instructor in the United States Marine Corp. He was also a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He loved gardening and enjoyed playing music. When he was younger, he was a member of the band called The Barnyard Boys. In later years, he entertained with his guitar and singing at various healthcare facilities. In addition to his wife, Mr. Anthony is survived by sons, Larry M. (Penny) Anthony of Birmingham, Ala. and Robert W. (Vicki) Anthony of Marseille, France; daughters, Sharon Pavey of Clear Lake, Texas, Susan (Rahul) Dewan of Columbus and Renee (George) Garza of La Porte, Texas; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church with Robert Anthony and the Rev. John McKay officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 2 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
