Larry Francis Cummins, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a cherished member of the Columbus community, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in his hometown of Columbus, Indiana. Born on February 19, 1941 to Donavon J. Cummins and Nedra (Daily) Cummins. He married Carol D. Lucas on July 24, 1965 (recently celebrating their 60th anniversary). Larry's life was marked by dedication, service, and faith, leaving an indelible impact on all who knew him. He was endearing and admired to everyone.
A proud graduate of Columbus High School, class of 1959, Larry's commitment to his country was evident early on as he enlisted in the US Navy that same year. His time in the Navy not only shaped his character but also instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

Larry's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devout member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher on the "A” team for over 40 years. Larry and Carol were members of First Christian when my late ex husband, Dick and I came from Cincinnati to Col’s in the 60s where Dick was hired to be Assoc. to T.K. Smith. Carol and I became good friends and I always valued her as one of my closest. They, along w/ other FC friends, attended my son Steve’s ordination service @ Ogilville Christian in ’85. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend Larry’s service as I’m playing piano for a fun’l @ Nashville Christian same day and have a conflict Th eve. With fond memories, thoughts and prayers, Dot Yeaton
