Larry was born July 17, 1942, in Columbus, the son of James R. and Frances Lou Roller Billings. He married Thelma L. Helton February 16, 1968. He had worked at Arvin Industries for 38½ years before retiring in 2005 and was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Larry was a proud member of Come As You Are Ministries. He was a passionate hunter and fisherman and loved his family. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Rob Hurt officiating. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Come As You Are Ministries, through the funeral home. Survivors include his wife; son, Jeffrey Alan (Amanda) Billings of Nashville; daughter, Kimberly E. Brown of Columbus; and grandchildren, Chelsea Laine Thomas, Riley Kate Billings, Erin Morgan Billings, Rebecca Shyann Billings and Alycia Reah Billings.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Billings; and a brother, Roger Billings.
