Lawrence E. Moffatt, known affectionately as Larry to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community. Larry was born on February 18, 1949, in Harrisville, WV to Jackson V. Moffatt and Ruth Hefner Moffatt. He married Tresa Bradley on October 18, 1969. Larry's love story with his wife was one for the ages, filled with spontaneous dancing in their kitchen and a bond that only strengthened as he stood steadfastly by her side during her lengthy illness. Their partnership was a testament to true love and unwavering support. Larry's professional life was a testament to his hardworking nature and entrepreneurial spirit. As the proprietor of Moffatt Painting, he painted not just walls but the lives of those around him with strokes of kindness and reliability. An avid golfer, Larry could often be found on the greens, where he enjoyed both the challenge of the game and the camaraderie of fellow golf enthusiasts. His love for the outdoors extended to his home, where he took pride in meticulous yard work, creating a welcoming space for family gatherings and quiet reflection. In his early years, Larry's creative spirit soared in the construction and flying of model airplanes. The Atterbury Flying Field was his haven, a place where he could indulge his passion and connect with his children who shared his interest. Those who knew Larry will remember him as the quintessential handyman. He was always eager to assist with home improvement projects, big or small, offering a helping hand and a smile. His ability to fix and create was matched by his desire to teach and empower others to do the same. He was a proud member and deacon of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church for many years. Above all, Larry cherished the time spent with his family. He was a source of strength, laughter, and love, creating a legacy of memories that will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Wes Jones officiating.
