Lena Mae Abascal

Lena Mae Abascal, 95, 0f Columbus, Indiana passed away Monday November 7, 2022 at Silver Oaks Health Campus. She was born February 10, 1927 in Washington, Indiana, the daughter of Virgil Ray Itskin and Violet Mae Swanagen Itskin. She was a resident of California for many years and moved to Columbus to be near family. She was a retired purchasing agent with the Los Angeles County Schools. Lena is survived by her sister, Beverly (John) Crouch of Columbus and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Lena was preceded in death by her husband Matthew A. Abascal on September 14, 1983. Lena will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California. No public services are planned. Arrangements were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home of Columbus and the Risher Montebello Mortuary in California.
