Leon F. Moorman, 76, of South Road 750W, died at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Moorman retired from Reliance Electric in 1999. He loved to hunt, fish and garden. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at Waymansville.
He loved spending time with his daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law and loved his animals.
Born in Waymansville March 16, 1934, Mr. Moorman was the son of Martin and Laura Strobeck Moorman. He married Norma J. Stillabower Aug. 24, 1956. She preceded him in death in 1998.
Mr. Moorman is survived by a daughter, Michelle Renee (Kevin D.) Schultz of Columbus; and a granddaughter, Laurie Jean Schultz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, William Bill Moorman; and a sister, Marlis Gray.
Funeral Information
FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Friday, January 18, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waymansville with Pastor John Beabout officiating.
CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
BURIAL: at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
