Lilah Elaine Almond Garrett, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 20, 2024, at the age of 63 at Columbus Regional Hospital, Indiana. Born on June 7, 1961, Lilah's life was characterized by her unwavering kindness, deep faith, and extraordinary ability to cherish and nurture her family and home. A devoted homemaker, Lilah dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving environment for her family. She took immense pleasure in the simple joys of life, such as scrapbooking the precious moments of her loved ones, engaging in spirited games of Yahtzee, and finding solace and strength in reading her Bible. Lilah's faith was the cornerstone of her existence, a testament to her belief in love, compassion, and resilience. Lilah's journey through life was marked by her role as a loving mother to her children, Kisha (Price) Allman of Columbus, IND, Shelby Simpson of Denver, CO, and Jonathan (Jennifer) Simpson of Longmont, CO. She was a beacon of love and guidance, instilling in them the values of kindness and faith that she held so dear. Her sisters, Leah (Mark) Johnson and Joann (Doug) Sharp, both of Columbus, IND, will remember her as a sister who always offered a listening ear and a comforting embrace. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Riley Seniours, Indy Allman, Lillian Simpson, and June Simpson, who will carry forward her spirit of love and her passion for life's simple pleasures. Lilah's presence in their lives was a gift, one that they will hold in their hearts forever. Lilah was a real fighter, a woman whose tenacity and zest for life led her to live nine years beyond what doctors had anticipated. Her journey was one of courage and determination, inspiring all who knew her to approach life's challenges with the same faith-filled optimism. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Sharp officiating the service. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. The burial will take place at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
