Lillie D. Eversole Buchanan, 77, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday February 26, 2020, at Greenwood Healthcare Center. Lillie was born August 24, 1942 in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of Lewis and Ora Williams Evesole. She enjoyed being in nature, gardening, fishing, cooking, and going to the beach to collect seashells. Lillie especially loved Christmas time and all that came with it. She also enjoyed going to garage sales with her sisters, where she was always looking to add to her sleigh collection. Lillie is survived by her children Jerry Rae (Jenny) Buchanan of Indianapolis, Michael (Amy) Buchanan and Jolinda Buchanan both of Columbus; grandchildren Haley (Kyle) Buchanan Endres, Jacob (Allie) Buchanan, Grace Buchanan, Everett Bryan, Stuart Bryan, and Rebecca Bryan; great-grandchildren Miriam Buchanan and Madilyn Endres, and Lillie was looking forward to the upcoming birth of her twin great-grandsons; sisters Betty Polly of North Vernon, Faye Bickers of Madison, Carrol East of Florida, Rose Cheek of Columbus, and Kathleen Perry of North Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents; as well as brothers H.C., Eugene, and Darrell Eversole. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday March 1, 2020 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home. A private funeral will be held on Monday. Burial will be at Scaffold Lick Cemetery in Blocher, Indiana.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear of Lillie’s passing. I knew her from Cosco. I used to spend the night with her when the roads got bad so I wouldn’t have to drive on the bad roads. May God bless and comfort you all.
