Linda Mae Schnapp

Linda Mae (Millspaugh) Schnapp, of Columbus, IN, 84, died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. She was born on February 3, 1941, in Hamilton, Ohio. The second daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Korn) Millspaugh. She was raised in Hamilton, Ohio. She graduated in 1959 from Talawanda High School in Oxford, Ohio.
Linda married John “Jack” Schnapp on July 6, 1963, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Millville, Ohio. They moved to California to start their life off as a married couple in 1963. They moved to Columbus, Indiana to raise their three daughters, Dorothy Melissa Huemmer of Angier, North Carolina, Amy Lynn Schnapp, of Columbus, Indiana, and Jennifer Ann Crim, of Columbus, Indiana.
Linda was a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church since 1964, along with being a member of the Women’s Altar Society within the church. She was also involved in the local chapter of the Homemakers Society of Columbus, Indiana.
Linda worked for Colburn Interior Design and Fisher’s Flower Basket.
As a couple, they enjoyed doing a lot of traveling, hiking, gardening, and camping but somehow the travels always seem to bring them back to one particular spot – the beaches of Sanibel Island, Florida.
There are 9 grandchildren: Ashley and Mikala Huemmer, of Angier, North Carolina, Ryan Huemmer, of Chicago, Illinois, Jonathan Brunnemer, of Indianapolis, Indiana, PK, Mitchel, Zach Brunnemer, of Columbus, Indiana, and Todd, and Emma Crim, of Columbus, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Schnapp, her parents, Dorothy and Robert Millspaugh, and her sister, Gail McNamara.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025, at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church at 1306 27th St., Columbus, Indiana, with Father Chris Wadelton officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Donations can be made in Linda’s name through the funeral home to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
