Lindel Burdeen Gilley, 75, of Falcon Drive, died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Gilley retired from Golden Foundry after 44 years of service. He was of the Pentecostal faith, enjoyed gardening and delighted in going to buffets. Born in Letcher, County, Ky., Dec. 21, 1935, Mr. Gilley was the son of William Howard and Nora Marie Adams Gilley. He married Virginia Ann Johnson June 2, 1958. Survivors include his wife; sons, Gregory Dean (Dianna) Gilley of Columbus and Mitchell Donovan Gilley of Columbus; a daughter, Pamela Ann (Chalmer) Gilley of Columbus; a brother, Burdell (Geraldine) Gilley of Whitesburg, Ky.; a brother-in-law, Lucky Sexton of Whitesburg, Ky.; grandchildren, Andrew, Blake, Aaron, Josh, Brandon, Justin, Brooke, Cheyenne and Summer; and great-grandchildren, Wiley and Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents. FUNERAL- Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Damon Marling officiating. CALLING- Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday. BURIAL- Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. MEMORIAL- Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Virginia,Greg, Mitchell & Pam, Anthony & I are so sorry to hear about Burdeen’s passing. I have many precious memories of all the years past that I will cherish forever. We are praying for you all. Wish we could make the trip up for the funeral,but never forget that you are in my heart and I will be thinking about you all in the days ahead. Sherry & Anthony

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Burdeen. He was a wonderful husband,father,and grandfather. I am honored to have known him and the Gilley family. I will cherish the many good memories I have of him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
