Lisa York

Lisa Gaye Edwards York passed from life peacefully and quietly as we had hoped for on 10-13-23. She was 62 years old. We joked that she would pass on Friday the 13th as she was an avid horror movie fan and highly superstitious. She gave us her final 9 days to say our goodbyes and tell her babies that she loved them herself. She was relatively lucid for short periods of time so she could confirm her love for us. She is survived by many loved ones. These include her mother and stepdad, Marjorie Jones and Steve Coffman, siblings Charlotte Moss, Troy Edwards, and Alison Jones, daughter Nakkai Furkin, granddaughters Cheyenna Furkin, and Keeley Dinn, great-granddaughters, Nevaeh, Aubriella, Kenleigh, Naloni, Estelle, Celine, and one due in May. Lisa also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and friends that will deeply miss her. Lisa’s battle with COPD and cancer was fought with courage and faith. She looked forward to resting in God’s arms and seeing her father Franklin B. Edwards who preceded her in death. Lisa hated funerals and did not want one. She planned for cremation and a destination for her ashes. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana in Lisa’s memory.
