Lloyd M. Ping May 25, 1928 - July 05, 2009 Lloyd Marlin Ping, 81, of Road 200W died at 6:39 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009, at his home. Mr. Ping was a retired farmer, had been employed as a truck driver with R.O. Barber Trucking and had been employed as a heavy equipment operator with Arnold Thompson Construction, and also owned his own excavating business. He was an Army veteran and a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 135 and New Hope Christian Church. Mr. Ping loved spending time with his family. Born in Columbus May 25, 1928, Mr. Ping was the son of Roy and Edna Renner Ping. He married Dorothy Herold Somers Aug. 5, 1993. Survivors include his wife; children, Allen (Linda) Ping, Gary (Charmella) Ping, Susan Ping-Perkinson (Leland Gene) Perkinson, Jeff (Toni) Ping, Ronald Ping, Kendall (Paula) Ping, Steven (Heather) Ping, Dale (Sue) Somers, Diane (Tom) Ward, Daryl (Jeanna) Somers, Dwight (Angela) Somers, Duane Somers and David (Cherice) Somers; grandchildren, Raedy, Cory, Kylaina and Branson Ping, Josh, Kristina, Loretta and Renata Perkinson, Leland Gene Junior (Shannon) Perkinson Jr., Dustin and David Ping, Leah Winget, Lynsey and Larrisa Ping, Nikki Davis, Kendra Ramey, Kensie Ping, Courtney and Keith Ping, Teri (John) Wedge, Traci Spangerone, Jonathan (Ryan) Somers, Roby Somers, Megan (David) Wilkinson, Dale (Kari) Ward, TJ Ward, Sara, Jessica, Chelsea, Aaron, Matthew and Nicholas Somers; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Garrett and Amelia Perkinson, Ethan Shoultz, Landen Ramey, Josh JJ Perkinson Jr., Zachary Davis, Bryanna Freeman, Sydney and Aiden Somers, Amanda Neal, Katie Wedge, John Wedge II, Brianna and Amber Wilkinson; a brother, Donovan (Donna K.) Ping; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information VISITATION: Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home and also Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
