Lois Aleta Hinds

Lois Aleta Hinds, 86, of Columbus, died at 6:00 a.m. on April 1, 2025 at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana. Lois was born November 15, 1938 in Jamestown, Tennessee, the daughter of Lafayette Fate and Mary Elizabeth Smith. She married Harlie Roosevelt Hinds October 24, 1959. Lois was a member of Columbus General Baptist Church. Her devotion to the Lord was easily matched with thrifting, always on the lookout for a treasure at local yard sales and shops. Lois found contentment in what many consider mundane; she loved to do housework and took pride in maintaining her home, a testament to her strong and independent spirit. The funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. Central Time, Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Jennings Funeral Homes Clarkrange Chapel (6827 S York Hwy, Clarkrange, TN 38553) with Brother David Denton officiating. Calling will be 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Survivors include son, Jeffrey Hinds of Columbus; sister, Shirley Keyes; grandchild, Jonathan Hinds; close friends, Teresa English, Shelly Weston, and many other church friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lafayette and Mary Smith; husband, Harlie Hinds; brothers, Bertie, William (Bill), Elijah, Delbert Ray, Noah, Junior, Lester, and Andrew Glen Smith; and sisters, Mittie Stephens, Lora Shores, and Nancy Smith. Services were entrusted to the Jennings Funeral Home.
