Lorene Ruth Brauer

Lorene R. Brauer, 97, passed away Wednesday, September 18 while residing at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana. Lorene was born September 24, 1926 in Bartholomew County to Otto and Clara Arnholt. She married August G. “Augie” Brauer, June 20, 1948 at St. Peters Lutheran Church who preceded her in death. They are survived by their four children, Claudia Atwood (Jim), Eric Brauer (Sheila), Judy Cline, Jenni Ingersoll (John), as well as nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren lovingly known to them as “Mom-Mom”. Lorene was employed as a medical assistant in several area medical offices. She and Augie were founding & charter members of Grace Lutheran Church. She lived a remarkable life, filled with service to her church as a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, and an English as Second Language mentor. She was an avid Quiller and crafter and enjoyed working in her garden. Calling hours will be Friday, September 27 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home. Followed with a private burial at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Croix Hospice in Seymour, Indiana.
