Lucy M. Newland June 21, 1911 - October 02, 2007 Lucy Mildred Newland, 96, of Columbus died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Newland was employed by Roviar Sportswear as a seamstress and also worked at CP Electronics for many years. She enjoyed reading her Bible and going to church. She was a member at Trinity Baptist Church. Born June 21, 1911, Mrs. Newland was the daughter of Leonard and Pearl Fuel. She married Homer C. Newland April 30, 1927. Survivors include daughters, Jeanette (Harold) Stratton and Linda (Lance) Adams, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jackie) Harris and Kelly (George) Boots; and great-grandchildren; Leann Potter, Shila Johnson, Sean and Evan Harris, Ethan and Kyle Boots and Lynsie Lacey. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Michael Potter; great-granddaughter, Chelsea Porter; brothers, Walter and Paul Fuel; and sisters, Francis Newland and Faye Hendershot. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. J.C. Brown officiating. BURIAL: Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
