Scott was born March 29, 1941 in Columbus, the son of Marvin and Julia M Aldridge Banister. He married RoseAnn Kistler November 29, 1969. After 43 wonderful years together, she preceded him in death on January 29, 2013. Scott was a lifelong member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Columbus High School in 1959. Scott was an U.S Army Veteran serving in the 1st Cavalry Division and retired from Cummins Engine Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Johns Masonic Lodge #20, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing the guitar, singing, fishing, gardening and photography. Scott also enjoyed spending time with his dogs, as well as feeding the birds and squirrels. He had respect and appreciation for our public safety workers, especially firefighters and police officers. Survivors include his sons, Eric Michael (Michelle) Banister of New Whiteland, Indiana and Brent Andrew (Amy) Banister of Columbus; sister, Diane (John) Wendel of Columbus and their children, Scott and John Wendel; grandchildren, Morgan Banister and Tyler Banister; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, RoseAnn Kistler Banister.
