Margaret Jane Staublin

Margaret Jane Staublin, 97, of Columbus, IN passed away at 10:57 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Margaret was born in Hayden, IN on April 26, 1925 to Edward Schafer and Minnie Adler Schafer. She was married to Theodore Raymond Staublin for 61 years, they wed on June 26, 1948. Margaret was a kind hearted women who always put other’s needs before her own. She retired from Cummins Engine Company after 40 years of service in 1983. She was also a farmer, avid gardener and a fantastic cook. When asked how she stayed young and lived so long, Margaret always said she was “Country” and a hard worker. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday with Reed Chapman officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest beside her husband Theodore at Garland Brook Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Jane Vogel of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Clarissa “C.J” (Heather Coffelt) Williams and Brian Staublin; great grandchildren, Kyle Staublin, Deklan Williams and Teddy Williams; She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore Staublin on September 20, 2009; son, Dennis Martin Staublin; sisters, Mary Nicholson, Ethel Thurston, Elizabeth Tiemeyer, Ruth Hunnington, Louise Crider, Edna Bowling, Elsie Hatfield; a brother, Earl Schafer.
