Margaret M. Ping July 19, 1915 - July 20, 2008 Margaret M. Ping, 93, of Midway Street died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Ping was a member of Hoosier Mustang Club, Model A Club and Sandcreek-Azalia Friends Church and was a rug maker with the KUM-Join Us Class at the church. Born in Bartholomew County July 19, 1915, Mrs. Ping was the daughter of Samuel D. and Minnie Bills Malson. She married Logan D. Ping Oct. 3, 1936, in Jeffersonville. Survivors include her husband; a son, Donald G. (Marialice) Ping of Columbus; daughters, Linda (Bill) Carothers of Columbus, Sharon (Lonnie) Hembree of Taylorsville, Wanda (Bob) Deweese of Columbus and Marlene (Ron) Cross of North Vernon; grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Arvizu, Mark (Erica) Ping, Jennifer Ping, Curt (Melisa) Carothers, Cindy (Kris) Weisner, Ross (Shelli) Carothers, Tim Hembree, Kenny Hembree, Rob Deweese, Niki Deweese, Rebecca (Chad) Schaffer, Teresa (Rick) Cravens, Ryan (Crystol) Cross and Jaime Cross; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Earl Malson of Columbus, and five other brothers. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday. FUNERAL: The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. C.G. White officiating. BURIAL: Burial will be at Sandcreek Friends Cemetery.
