Margarita B. Orosco, 66, of Columbus, passed away May 21, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Margarita was born October 15, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Ernesto and Margarita Becerra Orosco. She was a nurse for over 32 years, was previously employed at Vitas in Florida, and worked for many years at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. Margarita enjoyed going to church, especially the Act’s Temple Church when she lived in West Palm Beach, Florida. She loved life, food, especially chocolate, and being a “voluntary grandmother” to the children at Brown Elementary School in Seymour. Margarita also enjoyed watching Korean TV shows and was convinced that she learned to speak Korean, which her children fondly joked was not the case. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed for all the joy and humor she brought to the world. Margarita is survived by her children Anthony E. (Taya Hale) King of Riviera Beach, Florida, and Gloria (Femi) King of Seymour; grandchildren Amaya and Aliyah King; brothers Roberto “Bob” (Margaret) Orosco of Columbus, Mike (Sherri) Orosco of Columbus, and Israel (Chris) Orosco of Austin, Texas; sisters Lily Rose of Taylorsville and Patricia Reed of North Vernon; many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly; as well as her two “grand dogs” Kali Sweetpea King, and King Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Norris King on July 1, 1982; a brother Ernesto Orosco Jr; as well as her brother-in-law Paul Reed. A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday. My second mother, my hilariously wonderful and humble aunt, my life will not be the same without you, none of our lives will be the same without you. I know you had one big Fiesta yesterday going to our forever home, but the people left behind here will mourn until we see that beautiful sweet smile again. I love you always and forever aunt Margaret, you were always the light on a rainy day.
