Maria "Mama Mia" Felix Dominguez Lara

Maria Felix Dominguez Lara, 71, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2025. Maria was born in Veracruz, Mexico, on March 6, 1954. She has been a resident of Columbus for more than 15 years. Maria was a proud homemaker, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her steadfast devotion to the Catholic Church. She loved to care for her grandchildren. Maria showed her love for others through cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. There was never a better cook! She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She looked forward to seeing her canine companion, Kolten, who crossed the rainbow bridge last year. The family will always remember Maria in their hearts, especially when they see a hummingbird in flight. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Juan Castillo; daughters, Maritza Castillo Dominguez and Dennis Castillo Dominguez (Elias); son, Juan Castillo Dominguez (Elsa); grandchildren, Jonathan Meihls, Carolina Dominguez, Alan Dominguez, and Brian Dominguez. Friends and family will gather on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Cremation and funeral arrangements are being handled by the Jewell–Rittman Family Funeral Home.
