Marjorie J. LaHayne July 29, 1925 - December 26, 2010 Marjorie J. LaHayne, 85, of Columbus, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Millers Merry Manor at Hope. Marjorie was born July 29, 1925, in Muncie, Indiana. Her parents, Virgil and Lura Bantz Stafford, moved to Dunkirk, Indiana, where she graduated from high school in 1943. She attended Ball State University, graduating in 1947, and earned her masters degree from Illinois Normal Teachers College. She taught school in Plymouth, South Bend and Portage, Indiana. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She married Clarence E. LaHayne May 22, 1948. He survives. Also surviving are sons, Roger (Janet) LaHayne of Chesterton, IN, Dan (Jeanine) LaHayne of Indianapolis, IN, and Larry (Carolyn) LaHayne of Section, AL; grandchildren, Max (Barbara) LaHayne, Benjamin LaHayne, Carissa (Derrick) Jones, Jay (Tonya) LaHayne, Mark (Christie) LaHayne, Alice (Nick) Arnold and Juliana LaHayne; and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted (Roberta) Stafford of Bloomington, IN; and a sister, Maxine Preda of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Information MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Larry Isbell officiating. INURNMENT: Chesterton Cemetery in Chesterton,Indiana.
