Martha P. Rachles
June 2, 1943 ~ August 23, 2020
Martha Anne Pratt Rachles, 77, formerly of Naples, Florida and Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 after succumbing quickly to Covid 19.
Martha was born to Barbara and Norman T. (Jim) Pratt on June 2, 1943 in Washington, DC. She lived most of her life in Bloomington, Indiana; Zionsville, Indiana; and Naples, Florida, with occasional summers in Maine.
Martha prided herself in making a beautiful home for her family. She was very talented in her homemaking skills which included cooking, decorating, and many other artistic endeavors including needlepoint, stenciling, and jewelry making. She took pride in what her children accomplished. They were the love of her life. She also loved to have dogs around, especially Cocker Spaniels and Bichon Frise. Later in life, she fulfilled her dream to work in the beauty industry as a nail technician.
She is survived by her sons Nathan Todd Buntin and Matthew Troy Buntin, her daughter-in-law Lori Buntin; her granddaughters Ellie and Kara Buntin, her brother David Wixon Pratt; her sister Deborah Pratt Maloni, her ex-husbands P.T. Buntin and Bill Rachles, and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Her family would like you to drink a toast to Martha (she was especially fond of a good Margarita!) in her memory.
You are invited to light a virtual candle and send a message of condolence to Martha’s family via the funeral home website: www.jewellrittman.com

When I first met you in Colony Woods, you Mom was the sweetest Mom. She took care of everyone, and made sure that everyone was well fed and happy. She doted on you and Todd. Every time we saw her she was extremely proud of you. When I saw her this past winter, her eyes perked up and you could see the excitement come alive. She is in a much better place, a much safer place and surrounded by a ton of love. We will miss her, but her spirit is strong.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
I’m so sorry to hear about Martha’s death. She was my friend from way back (kindergarten, I believe). We were friends in high school, double-dating, talking all the time and styling our hair. One time I cut Martha’s bangs and she said that was the best haircut she ever had!! I was in her wedding to P.T. and visited her several times in Naples. I will truly miss her as I’m sure you will too.
Fondly, Cheryl Topolgus
