Tim Douglas with military honors provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard VISITATION: 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Horizon House Marvin L. Douglas, 78, of Elizabethtown, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Marvin was a Navy veteran, retiring as a sergeant after 20 years service in the National Guard. He was previously employed at Cummins Engine Company, was a business owner and a truck driver. Marvin was a member of the Moose Lodge and loved bowling. Born in Decatur County, Oct. 13, 1935, Marvin was the son of Sam Douglas and Elizabeth Stroup Douglas. He married Annie M. Waltermire June 16, 1962. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale (Cathy) Thompson of Indiana; daughters, Lisa (Wendel) Wisely of Bloomington, IN, Lynn Douglas of Scipio, IN, and Teri Douglas of Indianapolis, IN; brothers, George Douglas, Tom Douglas and Sam Douglas, all of Indiana; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: and brothers, Lloyd Douglas, Norman Douglas, Turner Douglas, Paul Douglas and Herbie Douglas.
