Marvin Rayl Chapman, 89, of Columbus, passed away at 10:45 a.m., May 20, 2018, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Marvin was born December 28, 1928, in Indianapolis, the son of Dale William and Grace Evelyn Rayl Chapman. He married Judith Ann King on October 14, 1950. Marvin was a loving, generous, hard-working and devoted family man. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and traveling with his wife in their motor home. He appreciated a hard day’s work and especially loved spending time with his children. A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis. Marvin is survived by daughters, Linda S. (Gregory J. Commons) Chapman of Alexandria, Virginia, Lisa A. (David) Vincent of Columbus, and Julianne Chadwick of St. Charles, Illinois; sons, Jeffrey B. and Ross W. Chapman, both of Ft. Wayne; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith, on February 21, 2015; his parents; and brothers, Dale W. Chapman Jr. and Ralph Chapman.
