Marvin T. Jessie December 15, 1918 - September 29, 2010 Marvin T. Jessie, 91, of Tifton, Ga. died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at his home. Marvin was born December 15, 1918 in Adair County, Ky., the son of Maradie Thomas and Sarah Ethel Dickson Jessie. He married Brenda Faye Goforth on November 29, 2002. Since Marvin was 3 years old, he was raised by his father and stepmother, Mary Lanie England Jessie. Marvin always said that he was not a member of a church here on earth but he would point to Heaven and said he was a member of The Church. Marvin retired from Commercial Motor Freight after 32 years of service. After retirement he worked on Snapper lawn mowers. He preached what he lived and lived what he preached. Marvin is survived by sons, Dewey L. Jessie of Franklin Tenn., Robert Bobby Jessie of Tifton, Ga., Charles M. Jessie of Mt. Dora, Fla. and Glen A. Jessie of Umatilla, Fla.; daughters, Patricia J. Hutt of Columbus and Sheila Jessie of Newton, Utah; stepsons, Bobby Goforth Jr., Tony Goforth, Kenny Goforth and Tim Goforth, all of Georgia; a stepdaughter Mary Conley of Tifton, Ga.; a brother James Maxie Jessie of Edmonton, Ky.; sisters Annie England of Columbus and Norma Jean Bennett of Columbus; 12 grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, John Thomas Jessie, David Ray Jessie and Ronnie Joe Jessie; brothers, Lewis Hall Jessie, Henry Jessie and Hubert Earl Jessie; sisters, Rosie Mae Klupp, Magalene Gibson, Frances Whittenburg, Louella Schroghan, Dorothy England and Betty Turner. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Whited and Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating.
