Mary Catherine "Cathy" Johnson
May 30, 1949 ~ April 8, 2025
Mary Catherine Johnson, affectionately known as Cathy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on April 8, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on May 30, 1949, in Columbus, Indiana to John W. and Mary Alice (Bennett) Piper. Cathy was a lifelong resident of her beloved hometown, where she also drew her last breath, surrounded by the love of her family.
Cathy dedicated 27 years of service to Cosco, where she was not just an employee but a cherished colleague, known for her unwavering work ethic and the warmth she brought to the workplace. Her commitment to her community was evident through her active involvement with the Revival Full Gospel Tabernacle since 2009. Cathy's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived it out loud, serving with a gentle spirit and a loving heart.
A lady of faith, Cathy's love extended beyond the walls of the church. She was renowned for her culinary skills, especially her signature potato salad. Her passion for cooking was matched only by her love for bingo and fishing, pastimes that she enjoyed and shared with friends and family alike.
Cathy's kitchen was the heart of her home, a place where she poured love into every meal she prepared for her family, especially during the holidays. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her universe. The joy and pride she took in her family's achievements and milestones were the essence of her being.
Cathy is survived by her children, Angela Branum, Tisha (Jon) Gamble, Lucinda (Jerry) Meyer; grandchildren, Taylor (Pedro Monroy-Castillo) Streeval, Blake Streeval, Brett Streeval; great-grandchildren, Raena, Victor, Yesenia, and Liliana Streeval; also many nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews.
