Mary Frances Galbraith January 31, 1928 - January 31, 2009 Mary Frances Galbraith, 81, of Columbus died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Lakeview Nursing Home in Indianapolis. Mrs. Galbraith and her husband Robert owned a local business for 20 years. After retiring, she was an active community volunteer. Born in Sparta, Tenn., Jan. 31, 1928, Mrs. Galbraith was the daughter of James Monroe Rhea and Erma Bumbalough Rhea. She married Elmer G. Leas Jr., who preceded her in death in June 1971, and Robert L. Galbraith, who preceded her in death in December 1998. Survivors include a son, Jim (Kathy) Galbraith of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Ramona (Bill) Osborn and Laura Mary Moody, both of Indianapolis; a sister, Lee Ella Shoultz of Columbus; and grandchildren, Shawnessy Ann Osborn, Cody James Galbraith, Kassidy Layne Galbraith and Phoebe Alexandria Galbraith. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a sister, Dorothy Mae Plumlee. Funeral Information FUNERAL: A private family service is planned with the Rev. Dennis Aud officiating. Mary Frances Galbraith, 81, of Columbus died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Lakeview Nursing Home in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Galbraith and her husband Robert owned a local business for 20 years. After retiring, she was an active community volunteer.
Born in Sparta, Tenn., Jan. 31, 1928, Mrs. Galbraith was the daughter of James Monroe Rhea and Erma Bumbalough Rhea. She married Elmer G. Leas Jr., who preceded her in death in June 1971, and Robert L. Galbraith, who preceded her in death in December 1998.
