I’ve been grasping for words but nothing seems adequate to describe loss of my dear cousin Gail. Gail and I shared a love of family history and poured over photos, documents, and shared discoveries. In 2019 I recorded some info for my files…. a couple of excerpt comments from her childhood in Marion, and life in Indiana. Thank you for all the moments we were able to spend together. You will be missed.
“Marion was just the best town to grow up in it was just a small suburb of Cedar Rapids. We lived in the nicer part of Marion. We had a beautiful house that dad built. We went to Catholic schools until I was a junior and then we went to public schools, which was like somebody landing from Mars. It was totally different than a private school. Holy cow. But the people were good. It was just a good town, it was just good people and good town. A good place to raise a family.”
“I can say for most of my life I just worked and tried to take care of my kids, raise them the best I could. And then, it was kind of like once the kids moved out I moved up to Indianapolis and I got a good job at the county hospital as an accountant, I loved it there… I started being able to save more, and more, a little bit here and little bit there and help out my kids. I almost got married once, but I didn’t… over the years I just got to be very, very independent. I like my life the way it is now”

Jason I remember when your mom let you stay with us. You and Michael were good friends. Your mom knew I would watch over you just like you were one of mine . And I knew my children were always welcome at your mom’s. Love and hugs to you and your family.Linda Carmer Mouser
