It is with profound love and beautiful memories that we honor the life of Mary Olene Williams, known to all as Olene, who passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Columbus, Indiana, at the age of 89. Olene was born on February 23, 1936, in Glasgow, Kentucky, and carried the warm spirit of her hometown throughout her life. Olene married the love of her life, Robert Wayne Williams, on September 5, 1953. Together, they built a family founded on love and faith, which endured until Robert's passing. A dedicated and caring mother, she is survived by her daughters, Mary Williams and Shannon (Jimmy) Lee; her son, Norvin (Ginger) Williams; and a cherished brother, Joe C. Gentry. Olene was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mark Antony Williams, and her sisters, Emogene Profitt, Willowdean Kingery, Arene Trivett, Glenda Ford, and Bobbie Gentry, and brothers, Kenneth, Leo, Carlos, and George Gentry. Olene's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Melissa Bruning, Paige (Katie) Williams, Olivia Williams, Bayleigh (Tim) Fields, and Whittney (Adam) Loyd; her treasured great-grandchildren, Daniella Hernandez, Nash Loyd, Blythe Loyd, Miller Cox, Jacob Fields, Peyton Fields, and Hailey Fields; and a precious great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Hernandez. A longtime member of the Calvary Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, Olene exemplified love and selflessness in all her deeds. Her unwavering faith and the joy she brought to others will remain a beacon to all who knew her. Olene's tender warmth and compassionate embrace will be deeply missed, as she leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a family that will continue to honor her remarkable spirit for generations to come. Her life was a testament to the power of love and faith, and she will forever be remembered as the embodiment of grace and kindness. Services to celebrate the life of Olene will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday April 24, 2025 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Blair officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.     John Deere dealership. My work buddy and I would buy seed and fertilizer there every spring. She was always friendly and very helpful.
