Melissa Ann Law, 42, of Columbus, IN. passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Columbus Regional Health.
Melissa was born on February 22, 1980, in Martinsville, IN to the late Jeffrey Law Sr. and Diana (Ferguson) Law. She was united in marriage after spending 10 years with Paul Bates, and they recently celebrated their 1st year anniversary.
Melissa enjoyed television shows and movies such as Little House on the Prairie and the Andy Griffith show. Melissa also enjoyed speaking with her many friends.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Paul Bates, her sons, Ethan Bush and Jacoby Rothrock; Granddaughter, Audrey Bush; her mother Diana Law; brothers, Jeff Law Jr. and Jeremy Law; sisters, Tracy (Dan) Gritton, Stacy (Kevin) Perdue, Lisa (Harry) Harden, and Stephanie Law. Melissa is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father Jeffrey Law Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2022, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Robert Hurt is officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Missy and I were best friends for almost my entire life. I will always remember how much fun she was to be around. She had the best laugh. Melissa will be missed dearly by myself and my sisters. All three of us consider her part of our family. My condolences to all of you. She left this world way too soon.
