Virgil Clotfelter FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home Michael Dempsey Grissom, 25, of Hartsville, died at 1:48 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born in Columbus, September 1, 1987, the son of Dempsey and Christy Garrison Grissom, who both survive in Hartsville. Michael was previously employed at Gehring Underground and was currently employed at Tyson-Crump. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson and spending time with his daughter and niece. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by a grandma, Bea Garrison of Columbus; a daughter, Macaelah L. Grissom of Hartsville; aunts and uncles, Candi and Keith Burton of Columbus, Pat and Junior Parnell of Kentucky, and Kevin Grissom of Brown County; a niece, Katie Lininger; a cousin, Craig Burton; and the mother of his child, Veronica Weed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Garrison, Herman and Martha Grissom; great-grandparents, Lavon Stillinger, Caleb and Mattie Warren and Clarence Ferguson; an uncle, Robert Grissom; a cousin, Robert H. Grissom; and his best friend, Dillon Miller.

  4. Mike was my boss at Thyson Krupp. He was very easy going and funny to be around. He always helped us when we needed it. He was a great man and will be missed.

  5. Mike was a wonderful boss, and friend. Although, I only knew him a few weeks, he was very helpful, thoughtful, had lots of funny stories to tell. He spoke of his daughter often and how much he loved her. He was a great person and will be missed dearly within our company. My family sends our condolence to you and your family.

It seems like yesterday we were two kids in love in high school chasing each other around because lord himself knows we couldnt live together but couldnt live without each other &128536; ! I dont know why Im writing on this wall I guess I really just miss you and wish I had one more chance to tell you how loved you are and how important you are and how we need you no matter the petty arguments or the crap I wish I knew then what I do now life is short and non of the nonsense matters when push comes to shove …dont we all wish we could grow up faster …anyways I love you so much and here I am living without the other half to my heart luckily our beautiful daughter gives me strength with her smile and when I look in her eyes sometimes and her expressions I see you and its just enough to keep me going because I know youre counting on me to raise her and raise her right and Im trying my best I really am …I just miss you and wish you were here to lean on and help me out you always knew what to say and when to say it geez what I would give to have one more talk like that with you &128532; Ill never forget the time I did have with you and Im sorry for being so hard on you I really just wanted you better for us and what I wouldnt of gave for that &128554; I know you didnt mean to leave us I know you would never leave us but it still hurts so much and Im here left to pick up the pieces and Im trying but its hard and I love you and I miss you and I think of you everyday and every time I close my eyes I still see you and I dont think that will ever change …take care of our other baby in heaven and kaylee and Ill take care of Macaelah down here Im counting on you just like you are me and I cant wait until Im in heaven with you and can hold you and our babies again until then my heart will be broken and I dont ever see that changing …love you to the moon and back baby myonelove gonetosoon neverforgotten

    • Hey dad it’s me your daughter I really miss you. I am 12 now. I hope you are proud of me. I miss you a lot. I am missing you every day. There is not one day I don’t think about you. I love you dad. No one could ever take your place in my heart. You are my best friend.

  8. I remember when you and anut veronica got me that power wheel. You got in the power wheel with me. I miss these memories but i miss you most. it was sad to see you go so soon i love and miss you uncle mike.🖤
