Michael Lee Freese, 65, of Nashville, died Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Michael was born April 27, 1954, in Columbus, the son of Paul and Dorval Roberts Freese. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee working at Dolly Madison Bakery for over 30 years until it shut down, then working at Bloomington Transit until his passing. He loved the outdoors, fishing, mowing and spending time with his grandkids. He was a quiet man but a loyal friend. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob England officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association in his memory. He is survived by his daughters, Lindsay (Tim) Sanabria, Megan Williamson and Michelle Freese; his mother, Dorval (Roberts) Freese Chatham; a sister, Paula (Phillip) Denbo; stepbrother, Rick (Sheryl) Chatham; grandchildren, Ashton Freese – Gastil, Preston Sanabria, Emma Williamson, Isaiah Williamson, Eli Williamson, Clayton Williamson, Emily Miller, Jacob Miller, Maya Jimenez and Vincent Jimenez; and Dianna Wagner Freese, mother of his children. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Freese; step-dad, Dallace Chatham; grandparents, Ray and Vera Freese and Roy and Ona Roberts; and his nephew, Chad Denbo.

Mike was a very nice person with a big smile! I had the opportunity to know him as a co -worker at Bloomington transit. He truly seemed to love popcorn as I would almost always see a bag in his hand each night I came in after driving. It became a joke between us. I will truly miss his smile and the kindness he expressed to me! To his family I’m so deeply sorry for such a big hearted loss. I along with many others will miss him dearly!🚎🚎 Peace and eternal grace be with you Mike and family.

I am so sadden to see another classmate has left us. Mike and I went to school all 12 years together. He was kind, shy , and friendly. I hadn’t seen him in a while. Been almost 46 years. But I still see him the way he was back then. Comfort and peace to his family. Fly high Mike.
So sorry to hear about Mike passing. I worked with him at the bakery, and we had many good times there. His family is in my prayers.

I miss this man more than words could ever express. He was such a great dad and made sure us girls were always taken care of. All his grandkids miss him tremendously. I don’t know if life will ever be “normal” without him. I love you dad.
My sympathy’s . He was a wonderful guy. He would always come in and pretend like he was going to be a complain ing customer. It would always throw the new employees off. He would start by saying he had been waiting for 3 hours in the drive thru for someone to take his order. He will be missed.
Mike is my 3rd cousin, our Grandmothers Vera Freese and Ollie Schwab are sisters.
Made many trips to Brown County per year for 30 years. During this time I remembered
Mike, but did not get to know him like I would have liked to. I always thought a lot of Mike and found his obit in the Democrat just recently. I was shocked to find this! My wife Judy and I send our deepest sympathy to Mike’s family in this time of deep sorrow.
