Michael "Little Red" DuLong March 03, 1952 - September 20, 2008 Michael Little Red DuLong, 56, of Alan Drive, Columbus, Indiana, died at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at his home. Michael was a cook and drywall installer. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and collecting knives and jewelry. His wife, children and grandchildren were his world. Michael was of the Catholic faith. Michael was born March 3, 1952, in Bartholomew County, the son of Noble and Sue Dutro Bennett. He married Debra Whittington. Survivors include his wife, Debra Whittington DuLong; sons, Tad N. DuLong of Indiana and Michael G. (Christina) DuLong Jr. and Kevin (Melissa) DuLong, both of Columbus, Indiana; a daughter, Jacqueline Michelle (Melvin Foree) DuLong of Columbus, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Araina Bennett of North Vernon, Indiana; a brother, Tom DuLong of Michigan; sisters-in-law, Pam and Camzy Dawn Whittington and Leslie Yoder, all of Columbus, Indiana; nephews, Jeremy Whittington, Josh Yates and Chad, Tyler and Devon Vandiver, all of Columbus, Indiana; a niece Shauna Fields of Columbus, six other nephews, four other nieces and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Saffell; a brother-in-law, Kevin Whittington; a nephew, Travis DuLong; and a great-nephew, Caleb Whittington. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. VISITATION: Will be Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until time of services. BURIAL: Will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Michael Little Red DuLong Memorial Fund.
