FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 719 5th St, Columbus, IN 47201 with Pastor Patrick Galligar officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to the Humane Society of Bartholomew County or the Together We Live Ministry at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Nancy Jane Fox, 66, was called to her eternal home on February 8, 2018, after a brief, yet fierce, battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Columbus on June 12, 1951, to James and Anna Kookendoffer Green Byrd. She met the love of her life, Randall L. Fox, in high school and they married on April 6, 1974. Nancy was a dedicated special education teacher for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and retired after 38 years of teaching. She was also a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She was a devoted wife to Randy, a loving mother to her only child, Kelley, and a wonderful Nana to her three grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her universe. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Galligar officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to the Humane Society of Bartholomew County or the Together We Live Ministry at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Nancy’s survivors include her husband; daughter, Kelley (Jesse) Gonsior; grandchildren, Marlee, Aiden and Zaylie Gonsior; brother, James Byrd Jr.; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Fox; sister-in-law, Sharon (Tom) Thixton; brother-in-laws, Roger (Betty) Fox, Mike (Margie) Fox and Keith (Sandy) Fox; aunt, Jean Morris; uncle, Roscoe Farmer along with many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Marion D. Fox; and a sister-in-law, Linda K. Byrd.

Randy-I was so shocked and saddened by the news of Nancys passing. She was such a dear. I always had such fun times when I was with her. I know you will miss her terribly. Be comforted in knowing that she is now in a much better place. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this most difficult time.
Randy and family, My heart goes out to you in this temporary loss. I have known Nancy since elementary school at Schmitt, and we were Brownie scouts together. I can’t unsee her smile or unhear her laugh. Whenever I ran into her we would discuss special education, the career we shared. I know with confidence we will see her again.
So sorry for your loss. Nancy was a wonderful teacher who inspired me to go back to school. We worked together many years ago, but Ill never forget her.
Was so shocked and saddened to see Nancy had passed! I worked with Nancy at Rockcreek and enjoyed her very much. I will never forget all the laughs we had! Our sympathy goes to you and your family.

Randy you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I so wanted to come today but I couldn’t. I am so saddened by this. Nancy was truly a blessing and a joy to know. Hang I there friend and know we are thinking of you all. My dad sends his thoughts and prayers as well.

I’m sending my thoughts and sincerest condolences from Germany. It is almost 20 years ago when Nancy and you invited me and Silke to spend some weeks in the summer at your house. I will always remember Nancys and your warmth and hospitality that made me feel at home. My whole family is thinking of you in these days.
My advice for credit report issues is to have a good credit specialist with good hacking skills. I don’t have to border no more for any credit report issues or impostors taking my money as well as my family because I make sure my hacker is always close. It’s good to play by the rules though.
