Norma Ruth Bennett

Norma Ruth Bennett, 75, of Hartsville, passed away at 6:19 P.M. on November 16, 2023, at Homeview Health and Rehab in Franklin, Indiana. She was born November 16, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Cecil and Alice (Townsend) Martin. She married Thomas F. Bennett on July 10th, 1968. Norma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartsville. She was inseparable from her beloved brother Freddie L. Martin, who spent most of his life with her. Norma wouldn’t know what to do without him. She also spent many years being taken care of by her neighbor and caretaker Josie Timbrook, who was special to the family. In Norma’s free time, she also took care of her farm animals. She will be greatly missed. The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Tallent officiating. Calling will be from 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to NAMI South Central Indiana (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Survivors include her sons Kevin (Carla) Bennett and Steven (Amy) Bennett both of Columbus; brother, Cecil (Nicky) Martin Jr. of South Carolina; grandchildren, Cole Bennett and Bailey Bennett; step-grandchildren, Katie Scheben Schulz, Jillian Scheben, and Jake Kleier. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Alice Martin; husband, Thomas F. Bennett; brother, Freddie L. Martin; step-daughter, Marsha Kleier; and step-grandchild, Michael Scheben.
