Norman Earl Minor Sr., 96, of Columbus, passed away at 8:38 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Norman was born on January 11, 1927, in Columbus, IN to Floyd Leslie Minor and Hazel Gohn Minor. He married Norma Jean Ahrmann on September 15, 1984.
Norman was the youngest boy of 10 children. He was employed at Indiana Bell, now AT&T, for 40 years, retiring at the age of 62. He was Master Mason for St. John’s Masonic Lodge #20 and was a member of East Columbus Christian Church and founding member of Columbus High School Cross Country in 1946.
Private graveside services for Norman will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Masonic Home, 590 Red Skelton Cir. Franklin, IN 46131, or through the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Minor; children, Norman Earl Minor Jr., and Brenda Sue (Kevin) Rager; step-children, Donald Imel and William “Mark” Imel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Minor; mother, Hazel Romine; step-father, Frank Floyd Romine; brothers, Leslie Noble Minor, Lowell Eugene Minor, Paul Robert Minor, Raymond Neal Minor, Donald Lee Minor; sisters, Helen M. Williams, Vivian Morris and 2 infant sisters, Barbara Joan Minor and Patricia June Minor.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

To the family of Norman and to aunt Norma I am sorry for your loss. Norman and I had a relationship of seeing who could have the last word🤣always jokingly. The last time we visited I was able to have prayer with Norm and he tearfully said thank you. God bless his family as they grieve and lay him to rest.
