Ora Manning, 93, of Columbus, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Willow Crossing Health and Rehab. Ora was born on June 20, 1932 in Olive Hill, KY to Clarence Manning and Essie Wilbern Manning. He married Pat Mitchell on January 26, 1973.

Ora spent his career as a respected supervisor at Swifty Oil Company, where his strong work ethic and leadership were valued by all who worked alongside him. His commitment to his job was only matched by his devotion to his faith and community. As a long-standing member of the Revival Tabernacle Church, he was known for his steadfast presence and the support he offered to fellow congregants.

Beyond his professional and spiritual life, Ora was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for woodworking. His hands were rarely still, as he found joy in creating beautiful pieces. His love for being outside was evident to all who knew him, as he could often be found enjoying the beauty of nature.

Ora was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend and will be deeply missed. His family would like to thank all his caregivers for their loving care they had given to him while he was at Willow Crossing.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Eli Johnson officiating. Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Manning; children, Gary (Janet) Manning of Salem, Virginia, Debbie (Chuck) Gray and Lisa (Eric) Harden both of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Michael (Erica) Clear, Becky (Matthew) McKimmy, Megan (Travis) Markham and Cory Murphy; great-grandchildren, Erin Murphy, Marlowe Clear, Alex Markham and Reese Markham.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Columbus Animal Care Services.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Manning; step-mother, Avis Manning.
