Paul C. Hodler September 08, 1924 - June 24, 2010 Paul Clayton Hodler Columbus Paul Clayton Hodler, 85, of Newton Street, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at The Woodlands in Muncie. Mr. Hodler graduated from Columbus High School in 1941 and attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis. He served during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a Gunners Mate M first class, V6 USNR. While in the Navy, he served on the USS General H.W. Butner (F Division) in the Asiatic-in Pacific Theater, American Theater and the European African-Middle Eastern Theater. Mr. Hodler was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and a charter member of the National World War II Memorial. He retired from Product Engineering Company in 1978 and was a member of First Christian Church where he belonged to Loyal Couples Class, served as a deacon and volunteered at Hilltop Camp. Born September 8, 1924, in Columbus, Mr. Hodler was the son of Fred Adam and Josephine Carrie Trout Hodler. He married Hildreth Marie Medley August 17, 1947. She preceded him in death August 18, 2007. Survivors include a son, M. Andy Hodler of Lakewood, Colorado; a daughter, Becky (Don) Holderman of Muncie; grandchildren, Adam C. (Carrie) Holderman of Indianapolis, Sarah Marie Holderman of Muncie, Shannon Marie (Phil Cordova, fianc) Beck of Denver, Colorado, and Andrea E. (Ben) Boiani of Clifton, Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Christian M. Beck of Denver, Colorado, Evan C. Holderman of Indianapolis and Ryan A. Cordova of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information MEMORIAL SERVICE: Will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Al White officiating. A military honor guard will be provided by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. VISITATION: Will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. BURIAL: Will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
