Waltz passed away peacefully with family by his side at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Born September 10, 1941, in Edinburgh, Indiana, Paul was the son of Marion and Grethel Waltz. He married Barbara Waltz July 26, 1989. Together they enjoyed many travels and among their favorite was traveling to Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg. Paul was an avid motorcycle rider and especially enjoyed riding through The Great Smokey Mountains. He enjoyed sprint car racing with family and worked as the car mechanic for numerous years. In his spare time he loved to be out on the lake fishing. Paul was a fun loving man and enjoyed his time with family and friends and was always willing to lend a hand. He attended The First Church of the Nazarene and The Country Gospel Music Church. Upon graduation from Edinburgh High School in 1960, he pursued employment at Amos Thompson Sawmill before beginning his career at Cummins Engine until retirement. Paul was preceded in death by his wife and parents. He is survived by his children, Patty (Adrian) Smith of Columbus, Indiana, Steve Waltz of Taylorsville, Indiana, and Paul Jr. (Terri) Waltz of Columbus, Indiana; Grandchildren, Zachary and Ashton Smith and Christopher and Amanda Waltz. Paul is also survived by his stepchildren, Tami Hagemier ( Chris Lanthier ) of Madison, Indiana, Terry (Penny) Hagemier of Hope, Indiana, and Kris (Dennis) Rose of Columbus, Indiana; and stepgrandchildren, Tanner (Cortney) Hagemier of Franklin, Indiana, and Nichole Rose (fiance Eric Freeman) of New Albany, Indiana.
