Paul W. Wilds March 28, 1925 - April 20, 2011 Paul W. Wilds, 86, formerly of Columbus, died at 2:29 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Heritage House in Greensburg. Mr. Wilds was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of First Christian Church. He retired from Cummins Engine Company after 36 years of service. He and his wife Mae also lived in North Fort Myers, Fla., for several years before returning to Columbus. He enjoyed traveling. Born in Jennings County March 28, 1925, Mr. Wilds was the son of Frank and Ethel Barringer Wilds. He married Mae Smith Nov. 6, 1943. She preceded him in death July 18, 2003. Mr. Wilds is survived by sons, Terry G. (Barb) Wilds of Greensburg and Stephen D. (Dianne) Wilds of Bemidji, Minn.; grandchildren, Annie (Micah) Hostkoetter and Daniel and Michael Wilds; a great-grandchild, Kendall Hostkoetter; and a brother, Harry Wilds of Eustis, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Roy Wilds; and a infant sister, Olga Wilds. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at First Christian Church with Mark Vice officiating. VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
