Pauline T. Stanfield October 31, 1917 - November 06, 2010 Pauline T. Stanfield, 93, of Elizabethtown, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born in Azalia Oct. 31, 1917, she was the daughter of Everett and Jeanie Thompson Taylor. She married Robert E. Stanfield Aug. 8, 1937, in Jeffersonville. A homemaker, Pauline grew up in the Azalia area and graduated from Columbus High School. After their marriage, she and Robert moved to Jennings County and raised their family on a farm that later became part of Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. Stanfield Lake is now located on part of that farm. In 1970 she and Robert moved to a farm in the Elizabethtown area where they retired and enjoyed traveling as well as many family activities. Her family was her greatest joy. Her eyes would sparkle when the grandkids and great-grandkids came to visit and she was thought of as a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews. She was a member of Hayden Baptist Church where she served the Lord faithfully for many years. She was lovingly known among her family and friends as GRANDMA. Survivors include sons, David (Jennie) Stanfield of Rome City, Indiana, and Larry (Debbie) Stanfield of Elizabethtown, Indiana; daughters, Patty (Don) Spaulding of Elizabethtown, Indiana, Bette (Garry) Niedbalski of Columbus, Indiana, and Marilyn Williams of Elizabethtown, Indiana; grandchildren, Todd Stanfield, Cheri Woodis, Pam Kelly, Daryl Spaulding, Susan Southern, Mike Spaulding, Robert Miller, Andrew Miller, Tim Williams, Jeff Stanfield and Cathy Stoughton; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1998; brothers, John Taylor and Harry Taylor; and sisters Mary Welch, Lucinda Crist and Edna Vaughn. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Sorrels officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
