Peggy Ann Walker

Peggy Ann (Grimes) Walker, 76, of Columbus, died at 4:35 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. Peggy was born June 8, 1944 in Dupont, IN, the daughter of Boyd and Mae (Moberly) Grimes. She married William “Bill” Walker on October 28, 1961. Peggy was a member of the Christian Church of Columbus. She retired from Cummins Engine after 33 years of service. She also worked at Schneck Memorial Hospital as an aid in the Maternity ward. A dainty lady that loved to shop, Peggy was considered a pro in this department. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and angels. Peggy was very fond of fishing, hunting shells and the area of Fort Myers Beach in Florida. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Peggy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Derek Carpenter officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 22, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be private, at a later date, in Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Survivors include her husband; sons, Anthony Lynn Walker, of North Vernon and Richard Walker, of Columbus; grandchildren, Jennifer (Franky) Edwards, of Seymour, LeeAnn (Warren) England, of Medora, Anthony Walker, of Columbus, Blake Walker and Taylor Walker, both of North Vernon, Mae Wyatt (Jesse Fisher), both of Indianapolis, Paul (Janeen) Nyberg, of Seymour; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Lisa Pauline Reese in 2018. Grandson Michael Anthony Wyatt Jr in 2007.
