Pete was employed as a truck driver for CUI (now Milestone), retiring in 1993 after 26 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Moose and Eagles lodges, a member of Central Heights Church of God, and enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Born in Columbus July 25, 1941, Pete was the son of Bud Burton and Frances Jessie Burton. He married Nola Bell Burton July 6, 1960. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tony Burton, Columbus, IN; daughters, Lisa (Danny) James of Clifford, IN, Connie (Bobby) Manning of Columbus, IN, Laura Wilson of Scipio, IN, and Heather (Jim) Lucas of Columbus, IN; a brother, Roy "Wuzzy" (Sherry) Burton of Columbus; grandchildren, Allen James, Andy James, Chris James, Amber Skaggs, Bobby Manning, Dottie Salsman, Brandon Manning, Mandi Austerman, Eric Burton, Carla Burton, Dawn Wilson, Courtney Lucas and Faith Lucas; great-grandchildren, Blake and Dillon James, Tyler and Dylan Skaggs, Dominique Pittman, Sarah and Dawson Salsman, Zaria, Gavin and Creasyn Manning, Storm, Izaya, Kyla Carmer and Grace Austerman, Sean, Gavin, Gabriel and Savanna Burton, McKayla and McKenzie Wood, and Jolena Burton. He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Burton; his mother, Frances Jessie Burton Whittenburg; a brother, James "Bubby" Burton; and a sister, Alice Faye Brown.

I am so sorry for your loss. I actually came across this announcement while searching for Alice Faye Brown. Alice was a friend of my mother’s long ago and my mother passed on 10/25/2013 and I found some pictures of Alice Faye and thought her family might like them. If someone can contact me that would be great!
